Foxconn Czech to add 1'000 staff?

EMS-provider Foxconn reportedly to add 1'000 staff.

Foxconn, which owns Czech manufacturing facilities in Pardubice and Kutna Hora, plans to recruit around 1'000 additional staff - pushing the total employee number in the country to 8'000. Most of the currently 7'000 staff are agency workers; half of the employees are Czech citizens, local media reports. The EMS-provider has also transitioned production to products with higher value and complexity. The facilities in the Czech Republic for example do not produce for high-profile customer Apple. The facilities took over the server production for Hewlett-Packard (which moved from Scotland to the Czech Republic). The EMS-giant is also reportedly considering a new segment to grow into: the recycling of electronic waste. Local newspaper reports suggest that this enterprise will start in Europe and will gradually be extended to mainland China and elsewhere. Foxconn Czech could benefit from this move.
