Celestica acquires Displaytronix

Displaytronix serves the LCD and plasma flat-panel display market by providing repair services for high-value flat-panel display devices such as notebook computers, flat-panel monitors, high-definition televisions, handhelds and other consumer devices. The company has strong customer relationships and qualification certifications with leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs). This acquisition will enable Celestica to expand its service offerings in the rapidly growing flat-panel display market. Displaytronix provides in-and-out-of-warranty support to both OEMs and ODMs and has the capability to deliver high yields. The company's expertise includes the repair, recovery and replacement of backlights and inverters; tape automated bonding (TAB); anisotropic-conductive film (ACF); and polarizer replacement. The company's proprietary equipment set; approach to developing interfaces and computer-based diagnostic tools ensure accurate problem resolution and quick turnaround.
