Flextronics to take on Elcoteq workers in Hungary?

Will Flextronics take on workers from Elcoteq Hungary?

The local job center in Pécs, Hungary is said to be negotiating with the EMS giant about over how many workers could be transferred, under what conditions and what support would be given. The program plan - which is being discussed in regional media articles - states that around 240 people could change to Flextronics. The cost is estimated at around 575,000 EUR. Flextronics would take over the Huawei manufacturing deal, keeping 240 jobs in the region. Although its mother company, Elcoteq SE, is bankrupt - Elcoteq Magyarország Kft. is not. Real estate and assets were used as security for the credit facility and are now subject to bankruptcy proceedings.
