German PCB market normalizes in June 2011
Sales figures for German PCB manufacturers in June remained virtually unchanged compared to last year (+0.5%); sequentially it fell by 12%, writes the ZVEI PCB and Electronic Systems.
The first half of the year closes - nonetheless - with a plus of 18.1%.
Order intake fell in June by 26.8% (sequentially) and by 20.9% (YoY). Order figures last year - especially during May and July - were exceptionally high as the industry saw a surge in demand. Furthermore, may expected bottlenecks due to this rapidly expanded demand.

Due to this normalization, the book-to-bill ratio reached a value of 0.88 in June and increased slightly compared to the previous month.
The number of employees also rose sequentially by 8.3%. Smaller companies even recorded an increase of 10.5%, which means that the industry has almost reached 2008 levels again.
