Sony warehouse in London destroyed

Rioters in London have set Sony's DADC (Digital Audio Disc Corporation) facility located in Enfield ablaze. The distribution centre lies destroyed.

The cause of the huge blaze is being investigated by police. No injuries were reported. The fire is described as being under control, but the building is not safe to enter. The extend of the damage has not been determined. The 20'000 m2 distribution centre had housed CDs, DVDs, BDs and UMDs and many independent music labels are affected and threatened with possible bankruptcy. Eyewitness reports from the BBC suggest that the fire was started by looters during the riots that spread across London and the rest of the country.
