AMD is planning for German expansion
The global computer maker AMD is planning to open a new fab in Dresden, Germany.
The new fab will house manufacturing of 300-mm 65-nm wafers. AMD recently reported of a 73% jump in its earnings for the third quarter. "AMD's product position has never been stronger, and last week they blew away Wall Street's estimates, earning twice what some stock analysts had been forecasting. That's a big change for AMD", said Nathan Brookwood, a microprocessor analyst at Insight 64.
