Exception in £2million<br> equipment investments

PCB manufacturer Exception PCB has invested £2million in PCB manufacturing equipment at its production facility in Tewkesbury.

Exception PCB has invested in one ESI Model 5300 laser-drilling unit which features a high-power UV laser at a capacity of 20,000 microvias per minute. "With the ever-increasing demand of OEMs miniaturising their product ranges, the need for additional layers with fine line geometry continues to push the boundaries of technology. Indeed, the market is demanding increased microvia capacity and we have now extended our capability to three machines", said Garry Myatt, sales director at Exception PCB. With newly added products such as flex, flex-rigid and copper plated microvias Exception hopes to win new business on a wide range of market segments.
