Benchmark with 20% sales increase in 3Q

Benchmark Electronics reported sales of USD 614 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2010, a 20% increase compared to USD 510 million for the same quarter in the prior year.

The EMS-provider reported third quarter net income of USD 23 million. In the comparable period in 2009, Benchmark reported net income of USD 16 million. "We are pleased with another quarter of solid operating results, which were driven by strong revenue growth and excellent execution," said Cary T. Fu, the Company's Chief Executive Officer. "Strategic initiatives expanding our precision technology services and diversification of our customer base have strengthened our business model and further enhanced our margin potential." Fourth Quarter 2010 Outlook Sales for the fourth quarter of 2010 are expected to range from $590 million to $630 million. This guidance reflects a recent increase in cautiousness from our customers regarding the economic climate.
