Fire at Nan Ya Plastics

A fire destroyed parts of a manufacturing facility of Nan Ya Plastics in Chiayi (Taiwan).
Nan Ya Plastics has launched overall safety checks and will take full responsibility, Wang Wen-yuan, Chairman of Formosa Plastics Group, told local media.

Investigations to determine the cause of the fire are still under way. The fire broke out on Sunday (October 3, 2010) at the company’s PEPA manufacturing facility in Taibao City (Chiayi). It took 17 hours to get the fire under control. No casualties were reported.

Nan Ya Plastics also produces copper clad laminates (CCLs).
