Production to resume at former Simclar UK site

Barony Universal Products may start production at EMS provider Simclar's former electronics assembly plant in the United Kingdom.

The company plans to turn the former Simclar plant into a production- warehouse- and distribution unit. Barony Universal Products has made full plans with the North Ayrshire Council. If they get the green light the company will bid to buy the building from the Kauffman Organisation, according to Irvineherald. The Kauffman Organisation bought the Simclar unit in 2001 for 8 million pounds and granted a lease for 25 years to Fullarton Computer Industries, who later was bought out by Simclar.
