German PCB market recovers in September
In September 2009, the German PCB manufacturer were able to increase sales by 11% (compared to the previous month) reports the German Association of the PCB industry (VdL) and the ZVEI Association (Electronic Components & Systems).
The inflow of new orders picked up again and grew by 23% - compared to August 2009. The expectations of most companies regarding the future development are a lot more positive. The latest fiscal reports however, still reflect the economic downturn of the industry.
The turnover of the German PCB manufacturers in September stood around 25% below the comparable figure of September 2008. The cumulative sales figure for the current year is more than 33% below that of the same period in 2008.

The book-to-bill ratio as an indicator of the medium-term trend reached 1.07, confirming the upward trend. With the closure of a major production site and through capacity adjustments, staff numbers will drop further.
