Benchmark Electronics close plant in USA

EMS provider Benchmark Electronics will close down its plant in Beaverton, USA.

The plant will close down at the end of this year, and will lay off 183 employees. Some employees at the Beaverton plant will be offered employment at other Benchmark plants, according to Beaverton Valley Times. The plant is from the begging a Tektronix supplier, and has later worked with Mentor Graphics and other companies in the Oregon area, said istockanalyst. The Beaverton plant has been up and running since 1991 and is specialized on low- to medium-volume production. The plant is specializing in high technology board, box and system level assembly solutions.
