Elcoteq to expand in Hungary, soon to have 7000 employees

EMS provider Elcoteq will soon have 7000 employees in Pécs, Hungary.

Antii Piippo and chairman-CEO Jouni Hartikainen has said that Elcoteq made a strategic decision when announcing to create Pécs into its European production centre. Spokesperson for the Hungarian parliament, Katalin Szili, who attended the meeting with Antii Piippo and chairman-CEO Jouni Hartikainen said that the company will soon have 7000 employees at the Pécs unit, according to realdeal. In the beginning of August evertiq reported that Elcoteq plans to lay off 700 employees in Pécs which will be dismissed at the end of September. The company said in August it will layoff approximately 400 own and 300 temporary employees. Currently the company has 4000 employees at the Pécs unit.
