TI interested in Qimonda assets

The US chip manufacturer Texas Instruments is reportedly interested in buying Qimonda's U.S. operations.

According to media reports, the chip manufacturer is interested in buying the U.S. operations of the insolvent Infineon subsidiary and plans to invest approximately US-$ 172.5 million. Although not yet officially confirmed, the plans are reportedly confirmed by records of the Delaware Bankruptcy Court.

An auction - concerning Qimonda's U.S. operations - is scheduled for the end of September (September 21 to 23).
