Ericsson kicks off operation in Estonia

Sweden based telecom giant Ericsson started yesterday to operate at the former Elcoteq plant in Tallinn, Estonia.
Ericsson will produce broadband devices for mobile networks and fast internet connections at the plant. On July 17th Ericsson and Elcoteq made a deal under which Ericsson will take over most of the production including machinery and employees. The deal was completed on July 30th.

Mr. Jan Wassenius, Vice President of Ericsson Business Unit Networks told BBN that Elcoteq wanted to consolidate producing somewhere else and that Ericsson needed to expand.
