Seidel to lay off in Austria

Austria-based EMS-provider Seidel Electronics plans to cut about a quarter of its workforce in Deutschlandsberg.
Seidel Electronics plans to downsize its operation in Deutschlandberg by 60 employees. Seidel's facility in Fürstenfeld may also suffer the same fate, the ORF reports. However, Maximilian Seidel, co-owner of Seidel Holding, stated that 48 dismissals were planned in Deutschlandsberg.

The company has ruled out shortwork. "Short-work may save 20% in time, but only 10% in costs. This is not sufficient to keep the company competitive", Maximilian Seidel is cited in the report in saying.
