BYD Hungary to lay off 50% of workforce
Nokia supplier BYD Hungary is to lay off 50% of its workforce.
The decision will be affective from beginning of March, the Budapest Times states. BYD Hungary, a subsidiary of CHina based BYD, gives a decreasing demand for its products as reason for the measure. As of January 2008, the company employed around 300 staff (more recent figures are not available). The facility is situated in Komárom, Hungary.
