Sony Ericsson's change in market, may hit Taiwan ODM partners
Mobile phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson plans to focus on higher margin products than less profitable devices.
This means that the two main ODM partners that Sony Ericsson is working with in Taiwan, Arima Communications and Chi Mei Communication Systems may be hit by this desertion, reported Digitimes which refers to Commercial Times.
This report came after the CEO for Sony Ericsson Hideki Komiyama told Reuters during an interview that the company will shift focus towards high-end products. Sony Ericsson has according to Commercial Times not placed any orders for new low-cost models to its ODM partners since the second half of 2008.
