Sitronics lays off production staff in Czech Republic

EMS-provider Sitronics TS has laid off 25% of its manufacturing staff.
The Czech EMS-provider employs around 300 employees at its manufacturing facility in Votice, outside Prague. It provides electronic manufacturing and mechanical manufacturing for in-house operations as well as for external customers.

The reason for this development is not only the newly established subsidiary in Greece (INTRACOM TELECOM), but also the missed restructuring opportunities. The company was unable to reach new customers; according to information that evertiq has received. It is still unclear how much of the Eastern European operations will be handled through the new Greek office.

Additional to that, the company’s development centre in Prague has also reduced staff numbers from 60 to a mere 10 employees.
