Foxconn: "more deals ahead"
Hon Hai Precision, which operates Taiwanese EMS-giant Foxconn, is pursuing an aggressive acquisition strategy.
"We have been working on more mergers. We hope to settle one or two deals in the second half of 2005", Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou said.
Terry Gou did not say in what regions these mergers will take place. However he mentioned that Hon Hai is targeting electronics component firms rather than PC-makers to further integrate with Hon Hai's core business of component manufacturing.
Last week Hon Hai's Foxconn decided to cut down 300 jobs at its mobile phone assembly plants in Finland.
