Strike at Atmel in Rousset, France
A strike at Atmel’s Rousset plant in France is set - due to the planned lay offs.
The company plans to cut 180 jobs in Rousset. The reason for the cut backs is said to be the continuing declines in the dollar against euro exchange rate, Les Echos reports. Since the beginning of this year, production capacity at the Rousset site has risen from 4000 to 6000 pieces per week.
