80% of all European LCD TVs to be produced in Poland

Poland is expected to produce 80% of European LCD TV sets in a couple of years, according to BBN. Companies such as LG, Sharp, TPV, AOU have already plants in Poland. As evertiq reported yesterday Che Mei is also considering Poland for a new LCD TV plant in Europe. Countries such as Russia, Czech and Slovakia are also hot destinations for production of LCD Tv sets. The total LCD TV market will grow by 24% between 2007 and 2012, with shipments rising from 42.9 million to 53.1 million units. In particular, this increases are driven by the Eastern European market which is forecasted to expand by 31% to 15.4 million units by 2012.
