Bombardier in £9m wing investment

Bombardier Aerospace in Belfast has joined research programme to develop new wings for aircrafts.

The £103m scheme is aimed at the development of new composite wing technologies. This is said to reduce the environmental impact of new aircrafts, reports the bbc. Bombardier will contribute almost £9m which includes government support. The company said it would focus on design and manufacturing processes, with emphasis on reducing weight and aerodynamic drag. Invest Northern Ireland and the Technology Strategy Board both contribute £2.25 million towards the investment.
