President of Belden Europe retires

Belden Europe, the European affiliate of the American supplier of connector solutions, announced the retirement of its president. Larrie Rose has been working with Belden for over 35 years. He was also the initiator of the companies strengthening process in Europe, by initiating the repurchase of Lumberg Automation and Hirschmann in March 2007. Henk Derksen, vice president for Belden Europe, was to act as interim replacement for the post. Belden now appointed Wolfgang Babel as vice president of operations and president of Belden Europe, Middle Est and Africa. He joined the company in October 2007 as managing director of the automation segment, which comprises the Germany-based companies Hirschmann Automation & Control and Lumberg Automation Components.
