Olympus plans to open a new plant in Czech Republic

Olympus plans to open a new production facility in the Czech Republic.
Olympus President Tsuyoshi Kikukawa stated that the new facility will produce surgical instruments. This marks the first production facility in Central and Eastern Europe for Olympus. The company has yet to release details about its Czech plant.

Yesterday, the company also announced that they intend to bolster the medical business through mergers and acquisitions. Kikukawa said Olympus will consider acquisitions mainly in areas where the company can take advantage of its business resources.
