Top 10 OEMs bought semiconductors for $91bn
In 2007 the top ten OEM company’s purchased $91 billion worth of semiconductors.
The biggest accounted for almost a third of all semiconductor consumption. This information is stated in a study that Garner has done, Rapid Electronics reports. The biggest purchaser in 2007 was Hewlett-Packard followed by Nokia. HP bought 8 % more semiconductors than it did in 2006.
To stay in the top 10 during this year all OEMs has to buy more semiconductors than in 2007.
