EC gives OK to computer giant merger

The European Commission gives OK to Acers acquisition of Packard Bell.

The European Union doesn’t see any problems with the merger between Acer and Packard Bell and therefore the Commission has now approved the deal. Acer, with its base in Taiwan manufactures computers and TV-displays and the Dutch Packard Bell is a European supplier of computers. The Commission announces in a press release that the deal would give Acer a higher market share but would not have serious negative impact on the competition in the EU.
