Flextronics wants to be the leader in<br>ODM/OEM digital camera production

EMS giant Flextronics wants to become a leading global ODM/OEM maker of digital cameras.

This decision brings increasing competitive pressure on Taiwan-based makers. In 2007 Flextronics shipped more than six million digital cameras making the company the fifth largest ODM/OEM maker globally in 2007. Flextronics has received small-volume ODM/OEM orders from Olympus, Nikon and Fuji-film. Also the company has received orders from Casio, Kodak and HP. This year Flextronics has a chance to ship nearly twelve million digital cameras. If so Flextronics may surpass Sanyo to become the world's fourth largest ODM/OEM maker. If this will happen Flextronics will be able to challenge the top, Taiwan-based Premier Image Technology (a division of Foxconn, Hon Hai Precision Industry), Altek and Ability Enterprise.
