Airbus opens assembly plant in Romania
Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos and French President Francois Hollande inaugurated a new assembly plant for Airbus H215 helicopters in Ghimbav (Braşov).
The development of this project, which calls for EUR 51.7 million in investments, will create 350 new jobs by 2020.
"In the spirit of the strategic partnership between Romania and France, we jointly wanted to mark a new success story in the bilateral economic cooperation”, said Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos.
Besides manufacturing lines, the facility will also house a research department, sales offices as well as a professional training center. The first helicopters - Airbus H 215 - are scheduled to 'fly off' the assembly lines by late 2017/ early 2018.
