Whirlpool completes Greenville expansion

Whirlpool has opened the expansion of its Greenville (Ohio/USA) Factory Distribution Center (FDC)., nearly doubling the size of the facility.

"We're excited to expand to accommodate the growing global demand in the small appliance category," said Ken Hossler, Plant Lead at the Greenville Operations. "Our investment in Greenville further demonstrates our commitment to Ohio's skilled workforce and reinforces Greenville as the global hub of our small appliance business." The project — which will nearly double the size of the FDC from 327'000 to approximately 650'000f2 — 'reinforces Greenville as the global hub of the company's small appliances business', a press release states. Greenville Operations manufactures stand mixers, stand mixer attachments and accessories, hand mixers, blenders, aerated beverage machines and cutlery blocks under the KitchenAid brand. Currently, Whirlpool has approximately 10'000 workers across its five manufacturing plants in Ohio.
